Random

It's a Friday. I'm leaving for the beach after work. Therefore, I have no motivation to do any work. The result, a slow going day. So I'll babble...

Let's see, what's on my mind? A lot! Thoughts are flying all over the place. It's a wonder I sleep.

Sports
World Cup started today. Kathie and I had talked about going to Germany for this, but decided to enjoy the summer here and hit Europe in the Fall. The US doesn't play until Monday... smack dab in the middle of the day. Four years ago, all the games were in the middle of the night. I'd go to bed, wake up to watch, then back to sleep before work. This year I'll sneak off to the hotel bar to watch at lunch. At least the second half.

The Mets are kicking ass and I couldn't be happier. It's been tough being a Met fan over the years. But I stuck by them, and so did Kathie. She's coming down here in August to see the boys play versus the Nationals. Kath, let's go back to NYC and hit Shea toward the end of the season, too. Jaime, you're coming with.

On the flip side, 2 Drink Minimum is 0-4 this year. We've put away a lot of beer though and last night played a really fun team. Trapper has promised me a write up in 15 minutes. I may post that next.

Beach
Why aren't I there yet? The schedule of events this weekend... arrive tonight and head to Blue Moon for drinks, of course. Tomorrow: bike to Dewey to buy my Cowboy Mouth tickets, layout for a bit to even out this stupid farmer tan. That'll teach me. SPF is still needed even though you're just drinking and not officially trying to get sun! Later in the afternoon, back to Dewey to see some bands at Jam Session. My readers know that this is my favorite thing to do on the weekends.

We have a Houz BBQ Saturday night for Billy's birthday. More bars in Rehoboth after that.

Sunday, more sun, then probably some time in Dewey before we leave Sunday evening. I hate to think about coming back already, so next topic.

Family
Although I moved away, family is still very much a top priority. Earlier this week I had to give the smack down to some relatives. Grandma is still healing from her surgery and being away from home for a month and a half has really given her some serious blues. Danger level. In a VERY PC manner, I encouraged these relatives to help support and comfort her by calling. In the last two days, I've had a 100% response rate (work lingo becomes everyday lingo occasionally). Now, I just hope they keep it up.

Work
Yeah, I think I'll do some after the lunch walk. A few coworkers and I are going streakin' in the quad! Or really, for a stroll around the grounds of Fairview Park.

This Week
I commented to a friend this week about my patience with people, "I think everyone took their retard pill this week." Today is much better. Oh and look at that, time for the walk!
