Is this Heaven? No it's the Ritz.

OMG, OMG, where do I begin?

I was sitting at a bar in DC last night with Susan and Les waiting for Lindsay and Brian. We were gathering to have a drink for Brian's birthday. Susan, Les, and I had full beers in front of us when the call came. My phone was on the table in front of me. Les either saw it light up or felt the table vibrate from it... either way, he pointed it out to me. It saw it was Kerree. Thought, well that's odd, what could she have to tell me?

WELL! What she had to tell me was... "Donna, oh my God, you answered. I'm at the Ritz bar in Georgetown and Jon Bon Jovi just came in." Soon after, I was off the phone with her, telling Susan and Les what was going on and that I was leaving. I was so excited rambling on that Susan had to say, "Stop talking and get out of here."

I went outside to catch a cab and there were Lindsay and Brian, just arriving. I hugged Brian, said happy birthday, told them what I was doing and hailed a cab.

Cabbies tend to drive crazy, right? NOT THIS ONE! So not aggressive... of course. The one time I'm anxious to get somewhere.

Finally, I'm there... in the bar. Kerree points out where Jon is and Nabila and I head over. There he was, maybe 20 feet from me. I asked one his cronies if it would be possible to get a picture. He said maybe in transit. Denied. Chatted with him some about the shows I'd been to. He asked if we were staying in the hotel, too. We said we were local and he said, "nice town you have here." Town? OK.

We returned to the table, I sent a couple of text messages, made a couple of calls, one to Stephanie. "Hello." "Get dressed and get in a cab." I explained why and her closing statement, "Give me 20."

I was sitting there, thinking about my next walk-by when I spotted another band member, Tico. He was walking by our table. "Tico." He turns, I put out my hand, he shakes and I said, "Great shows." He thanked me and continued on.

Time for another walk-by! I see Jon and Tico sitting there and they were now joined by Richie! The three of them, side by side, on a couch. Pinch me!

Stephanie arrived and I took her over. Jon and Tico had split but Richie was there with Hugh! I had my camera with me but was asked to not use it. FINE! HM!

After a while of a little bit of staring and waiting to see if Jon and Tico would come back, Steph and I start to head back to the table. At the same time, a waiter is carrying a tray of glasses to the kitchen. One falls and breaks right in front of us. HOORAY! That drew attention in our direction, so as we walked by we waved to Richie and Hugh. Richie touched the rim of his hat to us. WOW!
