2DM Shows Hoosier Daddies Who Their Daddy Really Is
Return of All-Star First Baseman McCrea inspires big win.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – It was a bitter sweet day for 2DM players and fans alike as Kevin McCrea returned to the starting line-up for the last time before he departs for Dallas. McCrea’s excellent defensive plays at first base and a two-run home run in his final at bat propelled 2DM to a 27-19 win on a beautiful spring night in our nation’s capitol. McCrea’s hitting was contagious as 2DM players smacked thirty-five hits, including seven home runs over six innings. Mike “I didn’t wear my Braves hat” Berkholtz pitched six excellent innings and went 3 for 4 from the plate as he was enjoying his second day of unemployment.
2DM shot out to an 8-0 lead in the first inning and pushed it to 14-0 in the second inning thanks to a two-run home run by Steve “That’s the sweet spot” Sullivan, a three-run home run by Spencer “Going to NYC” Cordeau, and a two-run home run by Rick “Bird hunter” Vogler. Solid hits by Michelle “Shelly” Ort, Alison “Doctor” Edwards, George “Straight” Koklanaris, “Anonymous”, and AJ “Gunner” Guenther kept the Hoosier Daddies at bay, while home runs by Nathaniel “Knight to…” Bishop, Matt “Ready, Aim…” Pohl, and Lisa “Allentown” Curran brought everyone home.
Special notes: Sullivan belted his second home run in the 4th inning and batted 3 for 3 for the game; All-star catcher Stephanie “Show me the Bling-Bling” King was 3 for 4 for the game, scoring 3 times; Team captain “Prima” Donna Russell was 3 for 4 for the game and also scored 3 times. Kudos to Dr. Edwards, Berkholtz, Vogler and Captain Donna for “cleaning up” after the game. Thanks to everyone who played and to those who joined us for the post-game celebration at the Capitol Lounge. Good luck Kevin!

Final score: Moonshiners 19, 2DM 27
